Many Diesel engine manufacturers and some
builders of models have produced excellent scale reproductions
of diesel engines. These are frequently used as commercial enhancements
to their sales effort, or sold in "company stores".
This section has been provided as a reference to some of these
scale models of Diesel engines regardless of their industry or
application. Models may reflect equipment as used in marine, stationary,
or railroad service. Where the information is known, we try to
identify whether each model was a promotional item from an engine
manufacturer, its approximate time frame, and the material used
to construct the model. If we are able to determine that a model
engine is currently still being produced, we will try to mention
that. Most of these items are long out of production and can be
found only in antique stores or internet auctions.
Unless specifically identified as being
currently available commercially, models in this section are from
private collections are not for sale. TES does not sell engine
models, and does not provide any appraisal or evaluation service
for these kinds of antiques. If a seller of currently available
models has provided us with photos of their products, we generally
post an internet link that identifies their website.
